Port Huron to Mackinac 2003 Coverage The UnOfficial, Independent Source of Port Huron to Mackinac Race Information
Sunday 20 July Currently two
boats are on the island- a total of 4 hulls. At 1344 Earth Voyager
took overall 1st to finish honors in an elapsed time of 23 hours 14
minutes. At 1748 the first monohull Alchemy crossed the line for a time of
27 hours 28 minutes. At the Southampton buoy Earth Voyager was only 2
minutes ahead! Earth Voyager's time is a new elapsed time record for the
Southampton course by over 11 hours! For the remainder of the fleet conditions are less than
stellar. Mackinac Island has winds from the WNW at 5 knots while the
northern Lake Huron weather buoy shows SSE winds of 4 knots. This is a
continuation of what the fleet has experienced generally following winds in the
light to moderate range. Our next report will be posted at approximately 0600
