July 18 11:00 am MILLENNIUM 600

Initial reports from Chicago show the first boats from the Millennium 600 as finishing.  Well in time for starting the Chicago as well as getting plenty of time for rest, relaxation and food!!

The following boats arrived in Chicago around sun up this morning:
Magnitude, Holua, Nitemare, Pied Piper, Stripes and Mongoose.
Windancer is not yet on the horizon.

The report on the conditions for the ride down Lake Michigan -
The 70's had a sleigh ride.
Have you seen pictures of the Whitbread racers surfing? That was it!!
Traveling southwest with a northeast breeze that filled in to 30-40 knots and continued to blow for 10 hours.  The boats held their course to Chicago and were traveling around 15 knots for long periods of time with the occasional 18-19 stuck in. Frequent 'deck washings' kept the crew on their toes to stay on the boat.

We will add more information as we acquire it.

July 14 8:00 pm BOAT NIGHT!! The whole town of Port Huron gears up for the party before the Port Huron Mackinac race.  From the private boat parties (like Renegade who commandeered an entire parking lot) to the public festival with carnival rides and loud music - there is something for just about everyone.

The Port Huron - Chicago Race (Millennium 600 this year) is an event that hasn't been raced since 1987.  The question among the crew members racing 'all the way around' for the first time is - How weird will it to be to drive on by the Pink Pony at the finish of the Port Huron Mac?
